Fashion & Beauty from South Africa

Hi

Today we are straying away from our usual everyday fashion posts and focusing on one very special dress. The bridal gown!

Most girls have been dreaming about the perfect dress their entire life. They have a vision of exactly how they want to look which means finding the perfect dress is often both exciting and overwhelming.

There's so many things to consider; from which silhouette to pick to the colour of the dress and even if the dress will match your theme.

Thankfully Morgan & Brown Bridal is here to help! Morgan & Brown is an upmarket wedding dress boutique based in Johannesburg. They are our very own kleinfeld's; with an impressive mega store that provides not only bridal gowns but also wedding couture for grooms and bridesmaids, as well as an extensive line of dresses for matric dances, proms and balls. They have also been featured on Top Billing.

We asked the experts at Morgan & Brown to provide some tips for choosing the perfect dress:

1. Find a pro
Consultants are trained to provide you with the best experience possible. They have extensive knowledge of bridal gowns and will help you find the perfect style and fit for your body.

Morgan & Brown Bridal has a team of in-house tailoring and fitting experts that can assist you throughout your bridal experience. They ensure that you are cared for during your fitting appointment and that the procurement and dress deliveries go according to the most stringent and time-sensitive time-lines, So thats one thing you can check off your list and not have to stress about.

2. Keep an open mind
Brides often come in with a preconceived idea of the dress they want and can be disappointed when that exception is not met. So keep an open mind and try on different types of dresses.

Morgan & Brown stock a range of silhouettes from A-Line and Mermaid, to Ball Gown and Empire. Their team of fitting experts will consult you on your choice of fabric, train, neckline, backline and embellishments.

3. Shop Early
The last thing you would want is to be stressing about when your dress will be arriving.

4. Dedicate a few days to dress shopping
Choosing a dress can be surprisingly time consuming and the last thing you would want is to feel rushed into making a decision. Dress fittings are time-consuming (approx. 1-1.5 hours so you may not be able to do more than 2 or 3 a day.) Free up a few days to just try on dresses.

5. Carry the right undergarments & wear your heels
This will help you in choosing the perfect gown.

6. Make sure you can move
Test out the gown to ensure you can dance and move around. The last thing you want is to be constricted when you want to have fun.

Take a look at some of their gowns as worn by real brides:

Looking to enhance your flutter but need something a bit more than mascara can give? Well, a set of falsies is exactly what the doctor ordered.

Eyelash Boutique recently sent us a few of their products to review. Eyelash Boutique was created when they noticed a huge demand for false lashes, they wanted to create something that was both appealing, as well as affordable.

They have 3 styles of cluster eyelashes, they tried to keep each style different from each other. They have one which is very dramatic and full, the other is very simple and can be used for everyday and lastly the third one being a bit less dramatic but still stands out.

Eyelash Boutique also stocks a great range of individual lashes. The individual lashes come in 11mm and 13mm. Each purchase is accompanied by a waterproof eyelash glue. Also the best part of shopping @eyelashboutique_ is that they are super affordable! Their lashes are all less than R100! Not to mention that they deliver right to your door!

They also wholesale to businesses and beauty salons if requested too. We were very impressed from our experience with them. From the delivery, packaging and the actual product!

Now on to the review, We've done this look to show off these amazing lashes from Eyelash Boutique these are type 2 lashes from their range, it's very natural and perfect for day wear. I love how light and effortlessly they sit on my lash line giving me that extra bit of volume and length I adore. Besides giving my lashes more volume and body these babies are super easy to remove as well as put on.

Not only are these lashes gorgeous but their also affordable check out their Instagram page for more info: @eyelashboutique_

You can order via DM or send the a message on Whatsapp on (076) 329 7495, they currently have a few promos on, so be sure to check out their page.
