Nina kindly answered a few of our questions and let us in on her style secrets.

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as bona fide and comfortable. I’m authentic and simple. And that is what I want my style to be and to represent.
What are some of your current fashion obsessions?
With it being winter, I’m obsessed with neck pieces and ponchos. They are a perfect combination to complete your outfit.

Jeans: Truworths
Shoes: YDE

What is one fashion item you believe every girl should have and why?
Every girl should own at least one body-con dress / skirt. It screams confidence and you can dress it up or down. For both small figured and curvy ladies, it extenuates the waist and body and it makes the curves pop. At the end of the day, we need to love our bodies and appreciate every bone, curve and dimple.
Who would you say is your style inspiration?
To tell you the truth, I don’t follow any specific person’s style. I admire a lot of women. I am mostly inspired by bloggers, I feel like they are more relatable, but I do not have a personal favourite. I make a conscious decision not be influenced by anyone. Every day, I aspire to be my own inspiration. But I do admire people like Amanda Du Pont for her street fashion and I think Nandipha Sekeleni and Sarah Langa are very elegant. Khloe Kardashian’s fashion sense is also on point. I think there are so many women who dress so well and I love and support that. But I have been on a journey of focusing on my uniqueness, and it has been amazing meeting me and my style and inspiring myself to be myself every day.
Who was your first style icon?
On the real, it was and still is my mum. We come from different generations, but she has always taught my sister’s, Khetho (@khetho_lome) and Tania (@tania_lomie), and I, the beauty of always representing yourself well through your clothes. And she doesn’t do it for people. It’s a lifestyle. I saw my first fascinator from her, I learned how not to wear certain clothing items because they age you, I learned how to mix and match colours and most importantly how to dress for your body.
When you can't think of anything to wear, what's your go-to outfit?
Skinny jeans/shorts and a tank top with sneakers in summer. And a black dress is perfect for all occasions.

Finally, what's your favourite quote or any advice you would love to give to our readers?

Find yourself first, fall in love with who you are as a person when you are alone and love your body, literally everything about it. Be your best company. Once you start discovering you, you will find your uniqueness. And you will never need to be validated by someone else, validate your own beauty and uniqueness everyday by refusing to be what people say/ think you are.It is great to have style icons, and to be inspired by people that are doing great, we need those people in our peripheral vision, but run your own race, stay in your lane and look only at where you need to go. You have something beautiful to give to the world by just being you.  You are unique! You are smart! And powerful! You are wonderfully and fearfully created! There is no one like you! Do not allow yourself to be anyone else but you! Lastly, stay humble.
