The Glam Diaries

Hi loves,
I'm back to give you more fashspiration. Seeing that the festive season is upon us, I thought I'd do a few fun glam looks for all events this season. Just a few outfit ideas and tips on how to spice up your looks for most occasions.

My photography, hair & the stunning make-up was done by Shaista China.

She is such a talented makeup artist, who has an eye for detail and intricate design. She effortlessly creates such beautiful, vibrant looks. She's known for her very creative,  colourful makeup which makes you stand out in any crowd. It was an absolute pleasure working with her on this collab.

Look one:

The black dress 2.0

This is my take on the not so "little" black dress.

When thinking of the little black dress one generally thinks of a short fitted ensemble, why not do it differently for a change?

Sproose things up a bit. I've chosen to go with a plain black floor length gown with gorgeous lace detail and a thigh high slit  for that extra bit of sexy.

When choosing the perfect dress its imperative that you feel comfortable and confident when wearing it. Here are some tips and tricks on how to get that glam look.

Be open minded:
I've heard so many people say they have a style in mind when shopping for a dress, and that they were shocked to end up with something completely different. Its important to be open minded and try new things. After all a special occasion should be just that: SPECIAL! So if you've never tried bold colours or you always wear strapless maybe try the opposite it might just surprise you.

Select a piece of statement jewellery and work around it:
Its best to have one really bold piece to hold down the rest of your look. For instance in this look I've worn my hair up, so I've added bold drop earrings to stand out.

In this case you most likely don't need a necklace, but if you do make it subtle.

Your evening bag should add to your look:
Even though you won't be holding your bag the entire night, you don't want it to look like an afterthought. That's not to say that you need to invest alot of money in bag you'll rarely use but its good to have a couple of basic "go to" clutches in your wardrobe, black silver and gold are ideal. In my case I used a sequin black purse which gives the ensemble some bling as well as glam which I love.

Be realistic about your shoes:
We've all been guilty of wearing uncomfortable shoes at one time or another. Before you decide to go with the 4 inchers, make sure you'll be able to stand for a long period without your legs throbbing. If you've never worn heels maybe opt for the 1-2 inch kitten heel. Its always a good idea to spend some time walking in the shoes so you can find out if the height is comfortable, and if any of the closures rub you up the wrong way.
One things for sure: there's nothing glamorous about a girl hobbling around in a gown. I've chosen to go with a gladiator sandal with a small heel for comfort as well as fashion purposes.

Hope you all love this chapter of the glam dairies & try out this gorgeous look.
